DLL (Daily Loss Limit)

The most you may lose in a single day

Daily Loss Limit. Hit the set loss in one day and the rule kicks in. Firms handle it in three ways: (1) the account is breached outright, (2) trading is locked for the rest of the day and resumes the next session (a soft DLL), or (3) there is no daily limit at all. A soft DLL often works in your favour — it stops a bad day from turning into a blown account. Some firms scale the limit with accumulated profit instead of using a flat number.
