Live transition

Moving up from simulation to a real broker account

Once you build a track record on the funded (simulated) account, some firms move you to a live account where real money is at risk. It is almost always by invitation. After the move the profit split usually changes (often to 90:10) and the balance commonly restarts from $0. Where a firm caps payouts at the simulated stage, this transition is effectively the gate it has built in front of long-term earnings.
