Scaling plan
A program that grows your account size vs. a DLL that shrinks as your balance grows — same word, opposite meaning
The word "scaling" gets used two different ways, which is where the confusion comes in. (1) Firms like earn2trade and TheTradingPit advertise a scaling plan: trade profitably and consistently for a set stretch and your account capital gets stepped up in stages. (2) Lucid Trading's "scaling DLL" works the opposite way — as your balance climbs, your daily loss limit tightens in proportion to it (e.g., 60% of your peak EOD balance). Both share the idea that "a number moves based on account state," but they move in opposite directions, so always confirm which kind of "scaling" a given firm means.
